Essential Oils

MY STORY:

I had heard about oils and various people enjoying benefits of them long before I decided to try them. My main reason for finally bringing oils into my house and now daily using them was I became hooked on a oil called Thieves. Thieves is a powerful blend from Young Living of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils. It is a rich, spicy aroma. But its power for me was that it was an incredible immune booster. Anytime my family feels like they are a bit under the weather or been exposed to anyone with a nasty germ, we bust out this fantastic oil and diffuse and topically apply it as described in my Free Family Wellness Guide. Its use along with adding more vitamins and minerals to your body will help you ward off any minor illness. And not to mention it smells fantastic. Think Christmas in a bottle! Since then I have begun to learn more about oils and we have added many other oils in our home used for all sorts of natural medicinal and support purposes.

WHAT ARE ESSENTIAL OILS?

“Essential oil is the “lifeblood” of a plant because the oil protects the plant from disease, provides nutrients and helps to repel insects.

The next time you rub a leaf of fresh peppermint between your fingers or hike through a pine forest, breathe deeply—you’re experiencing the soul-soothing power of essential oils. But essential oils are more than pleasant scents. These powerful plant extracts can be part of your lifelong quest for wellness.

Essential Oils are God’s medicine! God created plants and oils have been used for healing and anointing all throughout Scripture. Today, they are still used to bring health and healing to the body (physically, spiritually, mentally and emotionally.) Essential oils can be found in the plant’s flower, stem, leaves, bark or fruit. Essential oils are very complex containing sometimes thousands of different chemical compounds; this gives each plant its unique healing attributes and characteristics.

Essential Oils are quickly absorbed by the body when topically used. The oils work in the body assisting our cells to eliminate toxins. The fragrance of the oils works on the limbic system in the brain where emotions are stored. Essential oils can help with emotional trauma.

I use oils everyday to help clear my mind and relax, help remove toxins in my body and the air (they can increase atmospheric oxygen even and inhibit bacterial growth), help the nutrients from my food and vitamin supplements be transported to starving cells, and add antioxidants to my life.

Which brand of oils do I use?

I choose Young Living because just like vitamins and probiotics this is one of those cases where you get what you pay for. Not all essential oils are created equally. Many oils bought over the counter have added synthetics, contaminants, or cheap fillers, or use unethical production practices. Young Living has a seed to seal promise which means they embrace a rigorous quality control standard to help ensure their oils meet strict specifications. Seed to Seal is a set of standards that helps ensure that with every pure essential oil and Young Living product your family uses, you’re enjoying the benefits of our global resources, industry leadership, and over two decades of innovation. As the leader of the essential oils movement, Young Living is paving the way for every other essential oil company to improve processes that protect the planet and ensure the highest quality standards.
